KISTI, SERI Select 30 Next-Generation Technologies

Korea's KISTI (Korea Institute of Scientific and Technical Information) and SERI (Samsung Economic Research Institute) have jointly selected 30 next-generation technologies which will pilot the development of the market after 2015. Among which, 15 items belong to IT-related technologies while the remainder falls under the categories of chemical materials and biotechnology. The IT-related technologies include telematics, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), SoC, flexible displays, micro fuel cells, biosensors, software agent, 4G mobile communications, u Health, next-generation memory, grid computing, sensitive media contents, home robots, virtual systems, and bi-directional TVs. The chemical materials and biotechnology areas consist of bio chips, gene therapy, cell therapy, DDS (Drug Delivery System), useful protein materials, immunotherapy, therapies for brain diseases, materials for decomposing ingredients, gene modified objects, proteomic, solar cells, water purification technology, diagnosis kits, artificial organs, and LED.
